DELIGHTFUL DECORATIVE TREE DRAWINGS

PICTURES COURTESY OF ALMOND TREE FRAMES

Never underestimate the effect that natural subjects such as these tree drawings can have on your decor. Once you have the bare bones of the design drawn in detail on the bedroom wall, the options open to you are virtually endless. Properly placed, the drawing can successfully stand alone as a visual focal point that serves the purpose of bringing a feeling of openness into the room.

Simple drawings of a tree can be embellished to include elaborate frames strategically placed on the tips of the branches that can be used in various ways depending on your kids' age or interests. You might use the frames as a spot to insert details pertaining to our ancestors which will transform our artwork into a custom family tree that might encourage research into the family's roots. A teenage girl that's not into genealogy might prefer to decorate the frames of her tree drawings with pictures of her friends or her favorite rock star.

LEAVES

Whether your tree drawings should have leaves or not is entirely up to you. However, I would suggest that if you decide to include drawings of leaves on your tree that you don't go wild with numbers. If you follow the example of the lovely wall that has been decorated with a tree drawing on this page, you will see that less is certainly more. The delicate design of this painting left room for birds, cherry blossoms as well as framed artwork or painted frames if you so wish.

NO LEAVES

Some might think bare limbs and tree trunks look too stark or make the room seem too chilly. But I have to admit that leafless tree drawings are my favorites. They add no clutter to the bedroom's design and are much more versatile than more detailed drawings. You could experiment with the plain version before practicing your leaf drawings. Who knows, you may come to appreciate the simplicity and atmosphere that the trees of winter create.

SIMPLE DRAWINGS OF TREES

When just starting out, keep it simple. You can use tree wall decals and tree drawings as a combination if you feel that your skills won't carry you beyond a basic design. Used properly, the results can be an interesting, sophisticated wall mural that will give you many hours of pleasure.
