This picture of a teen bedroom is the perfect inspiration for a sophisticated pre-teen room design with high heels and a fashionable color scheme of salmon pink, black and white. The modern black and white swirling, geometric design on the storage trunk at the foot of the twin bed ties into the print on the pillow shams, the painting on the back of the rocking chair and the fabric on the wall hanging. The stripes on the border of the quilt that's cleverly used as a funky, decorative wall hanging give wonderful balance to the solid pink comforter and the wild, abstract monochromatic black and white print.

This is one of my favorite teen bedrooms that I've seen lately and at the moment it's available at a discount!

Do you want to update your teen’s bedroom and don’t know where or how to begin the makeover with the amount of money you have on hand? You aren’t alone, we often want to refresh the look of our homes and update them with a fresh modern look and we aren’t sure how to begin. Who can afford to start from scratch?

Designing a bedroom for your teen or tween you love out using stuff you have on hand may be more challenging than starting over with all new furniture, but it’s also cheaper. It may be difficult to imagine your existing furniture being used in different ways, but believe me that this is the best way to update your look on a limited budget. Here are a few ideas that can get you started:

  • Start with one area of the room. Decide if the focus will be on the bed, the window treatments or floor coverings. Don’t defeat yourself with attempting to update all of your teen’s bedroom at once. Besides where will she sleep?

  • Have your teenage girl provide a picture. It would be difficult to to copy it without starting from scratch, but you can at least get an idea of what the ultimate goal might be. You might be amazed at the good taste and knowledge of what’s fashionable and stylish that your little girl inherited from you! Plus, looking at photos of completely decorated bedrooms can pull you out of a decorating rut and help you to understand what your daughter’s favorite decorating style may be when she is not able to convey her ideas to you in words.

  • Ask your teen what she most wants to change about her bedroom. What a new bedding set and matching curtains do the trick or test the entire set of bedroom furniture set her teeth on edge?

If a full makeover is more than you want to tackle you might get by with updating the bedroom decorations items that most offend your teenage girl’s sense of what’s trendy and stylish and leaving the rest. Above all, get rid of as much clutter as you can. Those stuffed toys that have sentimental value might be the very items that will condemn the entire bedroom makeover and decorating process to disaster. Buy lovely storage boxes to store them in and convince here that her plush friends will still be around whenever she wants to see them.

Once you have removed the clutter, assess the situation and simply replace the items your daughter pointed out to you. You can completely change the decor in teen bedrooms by replacing the:
  • Bedding and comforters
  • Area Rugs
  • Window treatments
  • Wall Decorations
  • Throw Pillows
  • The headboard of the bed. This will give the bed a whole new look and feel to go along with the rest of your teen bedroom makeover!

This is the quick and easy way to makeover teen girl's bedrooms without breaking the bank, but just to be on the safe side start researching teen bedroom paint ideas.
