PURPLE PAISLEY or ZEBRA PRINT BEDDING

purple paisley bedding set comforter black microsuede velvet teen girls

GO HERE TO SEE MORE!

I just got a bedroom decorating question that had me pondering whether purple paisley or zebra print bedding would be best. By best I mean would the paisley print be just as cool as zebra? I'm really torn here because nobody loves hot pink with zebra print any better than me. But when I decorate a teen girl's room with a set of black and purple bedding, I have to say that the results are pretty satisfying.

Plus, there is the problem of that pesky purple zebra bedding set being sold out right now that by all rights should remove it from the competition. That little issue really complicates matters because I'm sure that some of the girls that visit Tween and Teen Girls Bedding and Bedroom Decorating Ideas will not want to make a decision on whether they want to buy the purple paisley or zebra print bedding until they are sure that the purple zebra comforter is never coming back.

PURPLE BEDDING for GIRLS

purple satin circle polka dots teal blue bedding comforter set

GO HERE FOR MORE

I tripped up on this purple bedding for girls and thought how cool it would look in a teal blue and purple bedroom that I'm working on. Then I noticed the satin and I'm second guessing myself as to whether that will fly.

In designing bedrooms for teen girls I've noticed that some like a smooth satiny fabric and some literally despise it. Rarely do you find a girl that can take it or leave it. She's either in love with silk and satin or would rather die than live with it.

Why could this set not have been offered in 100% cotton as well as satin? I just wish that I had a choice because I love the circles, polka dots and the abstract pattern of the purple bedding for girls. But I'm on the fence about the fabric.

The only thing that I know to do is to buy it with the assurance that it can be returned if my client is in the camp that dislikes satin. Return to Teen Purple Bedding for Girls and Bedroom Decorating Ideas to see if we keep the teal blue and purple polka dot bedding or start over at square one.

Girls Purple and Green Bedding

girls purple and green bedding black blue orange comforter

GO HERE FOR MORE

In my opinion girls purple and green bedding is perfect! However, there is nothing at all inappropriate about mixing it up with other colors so long as they are edgy and do nothing to diminish the decorative impact of the initial color scheme, right? Certainly orange, electric blue and black are all very modern colors that should appeal to a teenage girl, right? Well, keep reading and you will see there are times when my assumptions get me in trouble!

That is certainly the idea that I was operating under when I included a bright and bold set of bedding with all of the wild colors that I mentioned on my design board to present to a young girl (tween or early teenage years) who had casually mentioned the possibility of a purple and lime green color scheme for her bedroom.

To make a long story short, I either did not understand how strongly she wanted a set of girls purple and green bedding that did not include any other color whatsoever or she had been shopping around looking at pictures of purple and lime green bedrooms and made the decision that she had a distinct dislike for all the complementary colors that might normally be used as accent colors.

Always one to believe that the customer is always right, I backtracked my way out of the multi-colored bedding and decor and am back on track with a much simpler bedroom decorating project that I was proposing. And why should I care as the money’s the same either way and the decorated room will be very cute when I’m done. Perhaps I just wanted to make things more interesting for my own sake and in this case, I was wrong to do so.

PURPLE POLKA DOT BEDDING

girls purple polka dot bedding comforter set green bedspread

GO HERE TO SEE MORE!

When is purple polka dot bedding green? Well, the word is that reactive dyes that were used to give this bold, beautiful comforter set its deep, rich design are reputed to be very healthy, in fact more so than the all-purpose dyes that are more commonly used. This type of dye is not only reported to be healthier, but softer and longer lasting. Which as we know is a good thing for bedding destined to become part of the décor in a teenage girl’s room where spilled drinks, makeup and even occasional circles of nail polish can send the bedding set to the laundry on a regular basis.

I just recommended the set of purple polka dot bedding in the pictures to a client for her daughter’s dorm room so I have not had a chance to inspect it to see if the look and feel backs up the claims made by the manufacturer. But if the initial reaction of not only the mother in the household that I am working on but her two girls is any indication, I will more than likely have not one but two sets of this cute purple bedding set in hand before the week is out. The sparkle in the eyes of those girls tell me if they are to have any input on decorating their bedrooms, then decorating a girls’ polka dot bedroom with purple polka dot bedding is in their future or more importantly, mine.

LITTLEST PET SHOP BEDDING COLLECTION

littlest pet shop bedding collection hot pink purple monkey set

GO HERE FOR MORE!

This Littlest Pet Shop bedding collection may be just what it takes to send your tween or preteen’s heart all aflutter. The first thing that caught my eye was the hot pink and purple color combination with just the tiniest splash of lime green. Before I closed in to give the comforter and pillow shams a closer inspection my thoughts were leaning toward using it in a teenage girl’s decorating project.

However, the monkeys, pink kittens and lime green frogs caused me to do a mental turnaround as these motifs are more often seen as the preferred decor of a young girl rather than a teen. Even if I did my best, I don’t think the pink and white polka dots could camouflage or overpower the other graphics to the point that I could slip it past the eye of an older girl. I can sometimes convince a girl in high school to approve a dark purple Bobby Jack bedding set for use in her room with similar colors to this collection. But the frog and the cute kitty cats pretty much label this bed set as more juvenile than most teens would dream of considering.

So, what happened here is that I found a really cute set of Littlest Pet Shop toddler bedding for a girl and now all that is necessary is to find a little girl whose bedroom is ready for a makeover where I can use this darling bed in a bag that you see in the pictures to decorate.

PURPLE PEACE SIGN COMFORTER SET

purple peace sign bedding comforter sets signs bedroom pictures

GO HERE FOR MORE!

I promised you an update on which peace sign comforter set was picked for the bedroom that I was decorating with peace signs. For those of you just tuning in, I mentioned in a post last week that I was on the fence over whether to buy a more expensive bedding set and be conservative with the bedroom’s decorations or to go with a cheap set and go all out on collectible peace signs and decor.

As soon as the teenage girl (and her mother) made a decision I resolved to type out my report. Well, the votes have been counted and after some rough moments behind the scenes (drum roll please), the peace sign bedding set that my clients agreed on was an inexpensive purple bed in a bag set that cost less than $100! Actually because she only needed a twin size set, it cost less than $50! Plus, the collection offered purple lamp shades, pillows and curtains with groovy peace signs on them if she had wanted them although she did not want them as she preferred to do her own thing.

Was this particular purple peace sign bedding set picked because the tween was wise beyond her years and wanted to do her part for the household budget? That would be an ending fit for a fairytale but sadly it would be just as fictitious. She made her decision based on the fact that she wanted a purple bedding set and it just so happened that one of the inexpensive peace sign comforter sets was, you guessed it, purple with black peace signs. Whereas, the expensive organic set was a very practical brown that she found boring in spite of the trendy organic fabric.

So I am now off to shop for vintage decor to complement the purple peace sign comforter set which is going to be no small job. However, there is plenty of cash left over for me to work with. Return to Tween and Teenage Girls Bedding and Bedroom Decorating Ideas and I’ll share what I bought to go with her purple peace sign bedding set.

LILAC BEDDING SETS

lavender and yellow lilac print bedding comforter patchwork quilt set

GO HERE FOR MORE

Lilac or lavender and yellow are one of my favorite bedroom color schemes. Add a pretty set of lilac bedding or an old fashioned patchwork quilt with blocks made up of vintage lilac prints topped off with some "chipped" shabby chic decor like a recycled, rusty chandelier and I’m in seventh Heaven. Just give me a romantic novel and I'm good for the weekend.

Sadly, a wide variety of lilac bedding is as scarce as hen’s teeth to find ready made. Chances are to get just the right balance of fabrics with large lilac flowers and tiny prints, you may have to pull out the old sewing machine and make your own quilt or ask a doting grandmother to dig into her treasure trove of vintage, lilac print quilting fabrics.

Homemade lilac print bedding sets are perfect for either a shabby chic, cottage or vintage style bedroom decorating ideas for girls. Buy an inexpensive pair of sheer lace curtains to cover the windows that will decorate without completely blocking the bright sunlight with its sunny yellow, mood lifting properties. And add a rag rug to the floor that has been braided in colors of purple, green, lavender, yellow and lilac to pick up the colors from your quilt blocks and you, my friend, are in business!

These colors will complement your lilac print bedding set by pulling all the best colors from the cottage garden that you remember from lazy, daisy carefree days spent at the country cottage or the family beach house. In fact, it might be an excellent idea to venture out and pick a pretty nosegay of flowers to put in a vase or a jelly jar on the bedside table. What a pleasant sight that would be to your sleepy eyes when waking from a relaxing afternoon nap. I can only imagine how lovely it would be to lounge without a care in the world in a bed dressed up with luxury lilac bed linens and sheets that come with most lilac bedding sets.

Purple and Lime Green Polka Dots Bedding

purple and lime green polka dots bedding sets comforters girls

GO HERE FOR MORE!

Purple and lime green polka dots bedding sets with a generous helping of flowers may or may not have been considered stylish to the hippie flower children back in the day. But let me tell you that no Boho babe worth her love beads can deny the appeal of a colorful comforter set covered in a retro floral design and polka dots in all the cool colors that match lime green.

The color lime green alone can be too hot to handle, but cool it down with lavender, purple and some white lurking in the background and you’ve got a bedroom color scheme that works. This is an excellent bedroom decorating idea for modern girls that like a little bit of free love décor without going too far on the psychedelic side of decorating and design.

Lime green polka dot bedding sets can bring a taste of sunshine into your home to lighten and brighten the atmosphere of the bedroom during the rainy months when we are waiting for April showers to take a hike so that we can get to the more colorful and fun May flowers. Speaking of flowers; they are super to give lime green polka dots some real punch in the retro decorating department. Too many circles and dots can become too monotonous. The floral designs give our eyes a break from the round graphics and provide a nice opportunity for spring flowers to make an earlier than expected appearance in our homes.

PURPLE ZEBRA PRINT BEDDING WITH A TWIST

black and purple zebra print bedding set comforter bedspread bedroom pictures

GO HERE for MORE!

A short while ago I shared some decorating ideas for using purple zebra print bedding to give the modern teenage girl's bedroom a retro look with deco possibilities. The bedding set that was used in that example consisted of a comforter, shams and curtains with zebra stripes in black and purple with a coordinating leopard or cheetah print on the sheets bedskirt and pillow cases.

At the time that I wrote that article, I was tickled pink with the pictures of this bedroom design. The pics proved my theory that there were many more applications for animal prints than a safari theme bedroom filled with woven wood and tropical decorations in shades of green. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I was THRILLED.

If that unique find tickled my fancy and titillated this decorator's imagination, you can just imagine what an even more sophisticated set would do for my day! I adore the concept of purple zebra print bedding where the fabric with stripes is alternated with neon purple and solid black as dark as the most mysterious ebony.
And wonder of wonders; there may even be some fabrics in shades of lavender for a designer to work with.

Stay tuned to Tween and Teenage Girls Purple Zebra Print Bedding and Bedroom Decorating Ideas as I believe that this purple zebra comforter has much more to offer in the way of rugs, decor and window treatments. What fun we will having experimenting with mixing and matching the various prints and patterns of the fabrics and purple zebra bedroom decorations.

CRAZY DAISY BEDDING ENSEMBLE

daisy bedding ensemble set bed linens bedroom comforter

GO HERE FOR MORE

Purple girls bedding is a favorite, so let’s explore options for a cute, daisy bedding ensemble with pretty bed linens as the showpiece of a space full of sunshine for a princess who believes that she is far too mature for pastel pink. For that young lady we have some yellow and purple bedroom ideas where the walls as well as the bed is scattered with daisies with their white petals as well as lime green stems used to accent and brighten the room for spring.

The color scheme of our daisy bedroom design will focus on creating the perfect balance of purple and yellow using varying shades of lavender to highlight the bright purple portions in the bedding, sheets and bedroom accessories. White is used to bridge the gaps between the bold colors and provide the daisy bedding ensemble’s neutral background if necessary.

WOULD A DAISY BEDSPREAD or COMFORTER BE BEST?
Daisy comforter sets with polyfill batting that come in inexpensive bed in a bag sets will be much easier to locate than a lightweight daisy bedspread. However, quilts and comforters can be too warm in summer. I recommend that moms who dislike the idea of the comforter to the pretty purple girls bedding set that they agonized over being thrown on the floor buy a coverlet or pretty sheets that match their daisy print bedding set for use in spring and summer. It’s a better idea to store the quilt or comforter in the closet than to risk it being stained and having to toss the entire daisy bedding ensemble because of one nasty spot.

DAISY BEDROOM DECORATING IDEAS
Once you have the daisy bedding ensemble set in place, you will need wall and bedroom decorations. Daisy wall stickers are an excellent place to start. The decals can be arranged and re-arranged to your heart’s content and they are less expensive than wallpaper. You might also consider stenciling your daisies on the walls if you are having problems finding daisy wall decals that are a close color match to your purple girls’ bedding set. You could even make your own daisy stencils, but the vinyl wall stickers are so easy to use that your teenage girl can decorate the walls herself and put her own personalized, decorative touches on her bedroom.

Tween and teenage girls love purple and moms are crazy for daisies, so a purple daisy bedding ensemble and our collection of bedroom decorating ideas may be the perfect thing to kick off a successful plan for your teenage girl's bedroom.

DECORATING IDEAS FOR PURPLE ZEBRA BEDDING with a RETRO FEEL

purple zebra bedding set comforter bedspread print

Is purple zebra bedding a good choice for a teenage girl’s bedroom? How do you decorate around a zebra comforter with all that wild print and color in a way that won’t make your head spin?

purple zebra shower curtain bathroom decorating ideas

These are all questions that I’m asked by moms when their daughters go crazy over a purple and black zebra print bedding set. Mothers want their tweens and teens to take part and have a say in the decisions made in decorating their rooms. But, they are not experienced enough to know how to accessorize and coordinate patterns that will allow the girls to design an attractive room based on the bedspread they choose.

The biggest decorating mistake that could be made is to buy up lots of zebra print decorations thinking that’s what is needed to go with the purple zebra bedding set. That many stripes in one small bedroom are enough to make you dizzy.

The comforter, dust ruffle and pillows in the purple zebra bedding require a solid color wall and accessories so that the decor doesn’t conflict with the striped print. For a sophisticated look, ebony wood, black lacquer and ceramics are an excellent choice.

Younger teenage girls might prefer funky over chic. If that’s the case, vinyl wall flowers in a 60s retro style might work. Refer to the pictures for decorating ideas. Purple flowers with bold, black polka dot centers stay in keeping with your color scheme but the shapes are sufficiently removed from the striped pattern in the purple zebra bedding set to provide contrast rather than confusion.

PURPLE and BLACK BEDDING - BOBBY JACK MONKEY and GUITARS

Purple and black bedding doesn’t always have to be dark and dramatic. The perfect case in point would be this Bobby Jack monkey bedding set with musical notes and guitars that kids of all ages will find interesting not to mention very entertaining with a picture of a dancing monkey in the center of the comforter.

To keep the bedroom’s décor on the light side, the sheets are covered in purple Fender (they could be Gibson guitars, but I like Stratocasters, so let’s go with Strats) guitars on a background of white cotton. The same fabric can be seen on the back of the comforter.

The pillowcases and shams that match the purple and black bedding set are a virtual playground for our favorite, frisky monkey with the big grin, Bobby Jack. The sham that I like best is black with teal musical notes and words offering encouragement for teens to "Rock On" written in plum that really pops on the black background. The other sham has a picture of Bobby Jack playing his guitar.

If your teenage girl loves monkeys, music, guitars and fun, you can’t go wrong with this set of cute purple and black bedding for girls. You’ve been looking for bedroom decorating ideas where teal blue can be used as an accent color and now’s your chance.

Throw a purple shag rug and some big throw pillows on the floor, hang some beaded curtains and get ready to rock and roll monkey style!

Purple and Green Dragonfly Bedding

purple and green dragonfly bedding sets

GO HERE FOR MORE

It’s hard to wait until spring to dress the bed in a pretty purple and green dragonfly bedding set. Some decorators believe that we should update teenage girls’ bedrooms according to the seasons of the year. And then there are those who prefer to ignore what Mother Nature may have in mind and utilize their own decorating ideas by keeping their bedroom décor as light and airy as possible even when there are icicles are hanging from the eaves of the house.

I can find something to love about every season and love to decorate the rooms of my home accordingly, but I must confess that I tend to rush airing out my springtime comforter set and decorations every now and again. At the very least, my favorite purple dragonfly bedding set is fluffed and ready to use by the time the first crocuses make their appearance. And as we know, there are many years when these colorful flowers push their way forward through a light dusting of snow.

We have to wait until much later for the butterflies and dragonflies to occupy our gardens. But it won’t hurt to begin enjoying our purple and green dragonfly bedding sets a few weeks or even a few months before we have our first sighting of the real thing when we venture outdoors.

Early spring is one of the best times to organize our closets and kick off that decorating project. So, why not make use of the bright sunshine and perfect temperatures to paint the walls an exciting shade of lime green and hang some cute wall decorations that will look fabulous as a background for your purple dragonfly bedding? At the very least make the best of the transitional time between late winter and early spring to put a fresh coat of white paint on the crown moldings or chair rail so that your teenage girl’s bedroom is fresh and clean.
There’s nothing like a round of deep cleaning to clear the cobwebs and lift your sprits.

If you will be using the same set of purple and green dragonfly bedding from years past, add some new throw pillows or some colorful dragonfly sheets to update the comforter set and give it a new look. Toss a pretty area rug on the floor next to the bed and decorate your lamp’s old shade or design a new one with stenciled dragonflies or stickers. These are just a few purple and green decorating ideas that are cheap, easy and just as appropriate for use in dragonfly nursery themes as they are in a teenage girl’s bedroom.

LOVELY LAVENDER and LIME GREEN COMFORTERS and BEDDING SETS

lime green and lavender girls comforter and bedding sets

GO HERE FOR MORE

Lavender and lime green comforters with crisp white iron linens, curtains and an iron bed are an excellent way to keep a girls bedroom airy and light no matter if the light is artificial or natural. Northern exposure is never a problem when the color scheme is right.

A light purple or lavender bed comforter with white accessories alone may need a little jazzing up and that’s where lime green comes into play. The colors play off each other to create a kind of perfection that a mother can love as well as her hard to please seventeen year old daughter.

Girls bedding sets that include lavender and lime green comforters often are offered in inexpensive bed in a bag sets that even at full retail are comparable to the deepest of discounts. For decorators who thrive on the development of innovative and creative decorating ideas, cheap prices mean that they will not have to wait as long between complete bedroom makeovers to have fun.

Deep purple and green can be too dark and mature for a tween or preteen’s bedroom decor. Lavender and lime green bedding will give teenage girls a taste of purple without going overboard.

DECORATING IDEAS

Make the most use of the natural sunlight streaming in through the bedroom windows by picking up the touches of white from the fabric of the comforter. Hang floor length, white cotton curtain panels with embroidered vines and flowers, lace curtains or a valance used in coordination with blinds or a decorative window shade. This style of window treatment will give privacy when necessary and make the room bright and cheerful in the daytime.

FLOOR COVERINGS

A bedroom with lavender and lime green comforters and bedding set is the perfect place for polished hardwood floors decorated with a fluffy faux fur or lavender flokati area rug. The idea is to combine decorations that will keep things cute, not formal.

LIME GREEN and PURPLE GIRLS BEDDING

lime green purple girls bedding set bed in a bag bohemian hippie

GO HERE FOR MORE

At first glance, psychedelic lime green and purple girls bedding might strike the average mom and dad as too strong a reminder of the days when they themselves were a bit more Bohemian in their lifestyle than their parents might have liked. If they had known how deeply entrenched the Boho way of life was in their kids they probably would have forbidden them to ever leave their rooms much less to decorate it with wild and funky purple girls bedding with designs right out of a bad acid trip. For this reason teenage girls might have to exert a little rebellious independence in their attitude if purple and lime tie dye bedding is their idea of ideal bedroom decor.

In today's political climate we see more demand for teen and tween girl's bedroom decorations that reach back to the "Flower Power" free wheeling days of the 1960s and early 1970s. Those kids experimented with far too many illegal drugs during those days when the motto was Peace, Love and Rock and Roll and unfortunately many paid the consequences with at worst the loss of their life or at least damaging effects to their health that may have not become obvious until much later.

Today's kids have heard all the stories, seen pictures of the hippies and listened to the music that was played in the background by artists that sadly didn't live long enough to reach their potential. The good news is that teens of today are wise to the evil of street drugs and the carnage they leave in their wake. They just want to experience the good parts of that era like the fabrics and wall decorations.

Relax mom, a set of lime green and purple girls bedding in a Bohemian style is not going to send your little girl down the path to destruction. Take a deep breath, let her decorate the bedroom with whatever hippie style decorating ideas that she may have on her mind and use this time together to start a conversation about how wild colors are cool but alcohol, cigarettes and drugs are anything but.

PURPLE GIRLS BEDDING and COMFORTER SETS

GO HERE FOR MORE

Purple brings out the diva in us all. We are seeing purple baby girl crib bedding sets as well as purple girls bedding for tweens and teenage girls. Chicks of all ages love the look of luxury and drama that this shade once limited to royalty brings to their bedrooms. Once limited to deep, dark shades of purple that were closer to a combination of black and plum, comforters now come in lighter shades, prints and styles that are much more appropriate for young girls than sexy silks and satins that are hard to clean and even harder for some mothers to accept.

LIGHTEN IT UP!
Moms don't like to see their little girls rushing into early maturity. What can be done to keep the decor in the bedroom from looking too old for a teenage girl when she has her heart set on a set of purple girls bedding and nothing else will do? Here are some decorating ideas that will get your daughter the color scheme that she wants while maintaining a teenage atmosphere in the room. Decorating with patchwork quilts and ruffles are also excellent ways to keep things from looking too sexy.

  • Pick up a set of tween bedding in purple that's been printed with cute pictures of dragonflies, butterflies, ponies or a funky flower print fabric.

  • Buy purple bedding in green, purple, pink and other colors that will lighten the darker tones.

  • Skip the polyester fabrics that look like silk or satin for cotton or even faux fur

  • Purchase an inexpensive purple girls bedding or bed in a bag sets that has various fabric patterns coordinated for you. Stripes, paisley prints and polka dots in bright colors with a purple background are considered to be very fashionable and trendy with the teenage set and college girls alike.

Purple is a luxurious, sexy color so it's understandable that we have shied away from using it in teen bedroom decor. However, modern purple queen bedding sets with cool patterns and prints are full of fun and the potential decorating ideas are virtually endless.

FUNKY STRIPES and POLKA DOTS A PURPLE, PINK and TURQUOISE COLOR SCHEME

stripes polka dots teenage girls bedding lime green purple

GO HERE FOR MORE!

Teenage bedding that features the popular combo of funky stripes and polka dots needs very little in the way of additional bedroom decorations to achieve a cool and colorful teen bedroom. The fanciful designs will tickle the fancy of young girls and keep the mood as frivoulous and fun as memories on the sandy beaches of summer late into the fall when she heads out for the college dorm room. I just love it because it’s cute, bright and lots of fun!

Some might fall in love with a duvet set simply because of the cute matching throw pillows or a contemporary lamp sporting a coordinating lamp shade or even a set of inexpensive tab-top curtains but what never fails to catch my eye is the fetching color combination. Purple, lime green turquoise, hot pink and white are what makes decorating ideas for teen girls bedrooms fun. Once funky stripes and polka dots girls bedding sets are tossed into the mix along with a pink shag area rug on the floor and lime green curtains as window treatments and it's far too cool a proposition for me to resist.

String some patio lights over the headboard, around the crown molding or across the top of the window treatments and throw a fluffy flokati rug on the floor with some huge faux fur throw pillows and I’m happy as a clam and I'm certain that teenage girls will love the bedding and bedroom decorations, too!
